Electioneering by political parties for general election, to be held tomorrow, concluded last night.

Political leaders and contesting candidates made last ditch efforts through public gatherings, corner meetings and rallies to garner maximum public support.

However, the candidates are allowed to do door-to-door campaigning today.

Over 12,570 candidates are in the run for National Assembly and four provincial assemblies.

According to the electoral rolls, 105.96 million voters are eligible to cast the vote.

In all, 85,307 polling stations have been set up across the country.  

As many as 450,000 policemen and three hundred thousand army troops will be deployed on the polling day.

ECP complaint nos

The Election Commission of Pakistan has set up a facilitation and Complaint Cell for July 25th Election. Voters can approach the center to lodge their complaints through telephone numbers , fax numbers and Whatsapp numbers.

Find your polling station
All pertinent details are available at your fingertips courtesy an Election Commission of Pakistan service. Simply text your CNIC number to 8300 and viola. Details include: voter’s CNIC number, census block code, serial number, polling station, constituency and electoral area (city, district or tehsil).

The polling will begin at 8am and end at 6pm tomorrow.

The election campaign by political parties concluded across the country at midnight yesterday while those found violating the law would be imprisoned for two years or fined Rs100,000.

Winding up their campaigns all political parties and independent candidates have made last ditch efforts through public gatherings, corner meetings and door to door campaigns to garner maximum public support.

Security Measures

Pakistan Army has completed deployment of troops across the country in respective areas of responsibility to provide mandated assistance to Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) for holding free, fair and transparent Elections 2018.

According to Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR), the troops would coordinate with other law enforcement agencies and local administration for ensuring safe and secure environment on the polling day.

As many as 450,000 policemen and 3,00,000 army troops have been deployed for the polling day.

Political workers clash

At least five people were injured when workers of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz and the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf clashed late on Monday night in Sialkot.

Threats exist to staff, political figures: ECP
Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) Secretary Babar Yaqoob on Tuesday cited concerns over fake news circulating on social media casting doubts on transparency of elections.

Yaqoob was talking to media in Islamabad.

Yaqoob further revealed that electoral body was receiving threats. He confessed to existence of security challenges pertaining to much-anticipated elections.

Sheikh Rasheed's plea dismissed

The Supreme Court of Pakistan on Tuesday rejected Sheikh Rasheed Ahmed's plea against ECP's decision to postpone election on NA-60. The ECP had announced to postpone the polls after a court convicted PMLN leader Hanif Abbasi in ephedrine case.

Police recover thousands of fake ballot papers in Omar Kot
Police have recovered thousands of fake ballot papers from a jeep during checking at Omar Kot, arrested as many as 5 accused and shifted them to unknown place.

As per media reports, police have recovered thousands of fake ballot papers from a jeep at Pakistan Chowk while conducting routine checking. The accused were trying to shift the ballot papers to the village boir of NA 220 and PS 52.
