Asad Umar Calls ECC Meeting Today
The finance minister Asad Umar has called Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) meeting on November 20 (today) to discuss the extra production of wheat in the country.

According to sources, the government has one million tons extra wheat in its storage in the result what the government had increased the subsidy by 160 dollars per ton to enhance the wheat production.

Due to higher production cost wheat could not be exported for the last four years.

ECC will also discuss over the production cost and prices of sugar as the government has given the order for the step to halt the theft in sugar mills tax.

ECC will also review the situation after the closure of Omni group and Sharif family sugar mills and strategy to cope with it.ECC will also contemplate the ministry of industries and production request for a grant to the payment of dues, salaries and gratuity of the retired and present employees of the Pakistan Steel Mills.

The meeting will also mull to give immunity to NGO Takhfif Gurbat Fund regarding payment of its foreign loans.
