Quetta Gladiators manager Azam Khan confirmed the news of Watson coming to Karachi to take part in the Pakistan leg of the tournament, sources said.
The news comes after Watson’s Gladiators team-mate DJ Bravo also confirmed he will be coming to Pakistan.
Watson’s trip to Pakistan also gives fans here a huge name in cricket to look forward to, after former South Africa and Lahore Qalandars batsman AB de Villiers pulled out of the rest of the tournament with a back injury.
“Watson had asked for $0.3 million to play in Pakistan, however, he later said he will come and play without any compensation,” Khan shared.
Watson will arrive with other international players in Karachi on Thursday.
Moreover, the Gladiators administration said Watson will take part in the game against Karachi Kings on Sunday, March 10.
All of Islamabad United players will be travelling to Karachi for the Pakistan leg of PSL.
Luke Ronchi, Phillip Salt, Cameron Delport and Samit Patel will be in action at the National Stadium.
Kings foreign players Colin Munro, Colin Ingram, Sikander Raza and Ravi Bopara will be lighting up the city of lights as well.
Karachi will be hosting the remaining eight matches of PSL, following the delayed opening of the Lahore airspace for commercial flights, which created substantial operational and logistical challenges for the three Lahore matches, which were originally scheduled for March 9, 10 and 12.
