PSL4: Peshawar Zalmi defeated Lahore Qalandars by 4 wickets
The experienced duo of Misbah-ul-Haq and Darren Sammy lead Peshawar Zalmi to their sixth win out of nine matches as Zalmi defeated Lahore Qalandars by four wickets in the 25th match of Pakistan Super League 4 being played at Abu Dhabi on Tuesday.

Misbah finishes with 59 not out, having added around 100 for the sixth wicket with Sammy, which is a new PSL record.

In what should have been a straight forward run chase, Zalmi faltered early, losing half their side for just 20 runs. Much of the destruction was done by the excellent Shaheen Shah Afridi, who took each of the first four wickets.

However, Misbah and Sammy stabilised the ship and undid much of the damage copped at the start of their innings. The veteran duo’s good work meant that Zalmi need just 35 runs off the final four overs.

Earlier, Lahore Qalandars has set 125-run target for Peshawar Zalmi.

After Fakhar fell early, Haris Sohail kept the innings ticking along and Wiese gave it some oomph at the death.

Zalmi’s Tymal Mills lead the way with 3 for 26 with the ball.

Sameen Gul took two wickets and conceded only 17 in his bowling spell whereas Liam Dawson and Wahab Riaz picked one-wicket each.

Peshawar Zalmi won the toss and chose to field against Qalanders.

Peshawar Zalmi placed second on the table, have five wins from eight games and look close to making the playoffs.

Lahore Qalandars pushed down to the fifth position after Karachi Kings’ victory against Multan Sultans.
