PM Khan ensures release of helpless prisoners as Eid gift to 820 families: Dr. Firdous

Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Information and Broadcasting Firdous Ashiq Awan has said that Prime Minister Imran Khan has given Eid gift to 820 families by ensuring the release of the helpless prisoners.

The special assistant to PM said that the prisoners were languishing in jails despite completion of their sentence due to nonpayment of fines.

In a tweet on Tuesday, Firdous Ashiq Awan said the release of such prisoners is in-line with the Islamic injunctions and also indicates the government cares for the dispossessed segments of the society.

The prisoners released from the Central Jail Lahore hailed both Prime Minister Imran Khan and Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar for ensuring their release and enabling them to celebrate Eidul Fitr with their families.
