Tally of coronavirus patients
The number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in Pakistan rose to rose to 4,072 on Wednesday after new infections were confirmed and recovery rate also increases that is 467.

The province-wise break up of the total number of cases is as follows:

The worldwide number of officially confirmed fatalities from the novel coronavirus now stands at above 81,000.

More than 1 million declared cases have been registered in 213 countries and territories since the epidemic first emerged in China in December. Of these cases, at least 253,000 are now considered recovered.

Sindh govt restrictions on account of Shab e Barat

Sindh Government on Wednesday announced that the prevalent novel coronavirus related lockdown in the province will be made stricter on account of Shab-e-Barat.

Sindh government has asked the people to observe the day of religious reverence at home and offer prayers from the safety of their residential confines.

Sindh Education Minister Saeed Ghani statement about lockdown

Sindh Education Minister Saeed Ghani said Tuesday the lockdown rules will be revised on April 14, paving the way for a little leniency.

In a statement, Sindh Education Minister explained that the rules under the coronavirus lockdown will be relaxed after April 14 so that some sectors will be given conditional permission to resume their operations.

However, he reminded people to continue heeding the lockdown rules as per the law until the aforementioned day. "People should cooperate with the government and not violate the lockdown," he added.

PIA brings back 136 Pakistanis from Iraq

The Pakistan International Airline (PIA) on Wednesday brought back 136 stranded Pakistani nationals from Baghdad through a special flight.

PIA’s special flight PK-9814 brought back home the Pakistani nationals stuck in Iraq owing to suspension of international flights to the country amid coronavirus pandemic.

The special flight reached Islamabad airport on Wednesday morning, where doctors examined and screened the passengers.

The passengers include disabled persons, women, children and elderly people. All the passengers and crew members have for now been quarantined at a local hotel.

Zafar Mirza briefing about testing capacity 

 As coronavirus cases crossed 4,000 on Wednesday, Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Health Dr Zafar Mirza said that country’s coronavirus testing capacity will be enhanced to 20,000 tests from 6000.

UK PM Johnson, battling coronavirus, set for second night in intensive care

British Prime Minister Boris Johnson was set to spend a second night in intensive care on Tuesday to help his fight against a coronavirus infection, as his designated deputy said he would pull through because“he’s a fighter”.

Johnson is receiving oxygen support but is stable, in good spirits and breathing without assistance, said Foreign Secretary Dominic Raab, who is standing in Johnson, adding that he had not needed mechanical ventilation.

US Reports record deaths 2,000 in a day

Even as medical teams struggled to save an onslaught of gravely ill coronavirus patients and deaths hit new highs, the number of COVID-19 hospitalisations seemed to be levelling off in New York state, the U.S. epicentre of the pandemic, Governor Andrew Cuomo said on Tuesday.

China ends Wuhan lockdown

China saw a rise in the number of new coronavirus as the country lifted the lockdown in virus epicentre Wuhan on Wednesday.

Mainland China’s new cases doubled in 24 hours as the number of infected overseas travellers surged, and new asymptomatic infections more than quadrupled, pressuring authorities to tighten measures to stem local transmissions.
