Amazing Cambodian kid who can speak 15 languages invited to Beijing to sing on television
A Cambodian boy with a gift for languages has now been invited to China after showing off his incredible linguistic skills while selling souvenirs near Angkor Wat.

In a viral video filmed by a Malaysian tourist, the 14-year-old kid switches effortlessly between 10 different languages while trying to convince the woman to buy some of his wares, speaking in Cantonese, Mandarin, Malay, French, Thai, Filipino, Japanese, German, and Spanish.

The boy, named Thaksin, says that he speaks about 15 different languages which he picked up while talking with tourists.

It turns out that Thaksin’s younger brother is also a polyglot, able to speak 11 different languages. In a video that has gone viral on Chinese social media, the two brothers are seen answering questions in Mandarin, saying that it is their favorite language and that they hope to study in Beijing someday.

Well, it now appears that the kid’s wish is going to partly come true with a Beijing TV station inviting Thaksin and his family for an all-expenses-paid trip to China’s capital where he will be interviewed and take the stage to sing a song.

While attempting to convince the Malaysian tourist to buy something, Thaksin had shown off his musical talents singing a bit of the popular song “We Are Different,” changing one line of the lyrics to “we are here selling things to you” instead of “we are here waiting for you.”

Becoming an internet star has also meant that Thaksin and his brother have received gifts and financial aid from charitable organizations with the Cambodian Red Cross pledging to pay for the brothers’ schooling.
